Germany dismantles Switzerland – dream debut for debutante

After a lot of idleness in the first half, the DFB women went on a scoring spree against Switzerland after the restart. Several jokers were convincing.

The German women’s national team successfully played its last test match this year. National coach Christian Wück’s team fought to a 6-0 (1-0) victory against Switzerland. While the necessary precision and wit were lacking at the start of the game, Germany turned things up in the second half.

Sjoeke Nüsken redeemed the DFB team before the half-time whistle and scored with a header from a corner from Klara Bühl to make it 1-0 (43rd minute). Joker Laura Freigang scored a brace (50th and 64th), Lea Schüller rewarded herself (56th and 90th +1) and debutant Cora Zicai also scored the first goal in the first game (73rd).

Striker Freigang said on the ZDF microphone after the game: “We had a plan that we wanted to implement. The crosses came sharp and very precisely. It’s not that difficult to hold your foot.” The Frankfurt native impressed in her interaction with teammate Pia-Sophie Wolter. “We played it with a lot of will,” explained the 26-year-old.

National coach Wück was also enthusiastic after the final whistle: “We had a bit of a different style in the game because of the changes. It was very difficult to get through the Swiss defense,” he said about the opponent and his substitutions. “In his opinion, there was a lack of dynamism in the first half.

90th minute +3: Final whistle. The DFB women beat Switzerland 6-0.

90th minute +1: Goal for Germany! Freigang passes through to Endemann, who serves Schüller with her cross. The Bayern player hits the ball with her head but remains lying. She apparently injured herself when she landed.

86. Minute: National coach Wück showed a good hand with his substitutions. Wolter, Freigang, Zicai, Şehitler, Endemann and Gräwe continue to provide dangerous impulses and bring new momentum.

81. Minute: Although the game is decided, Switzerland still tries again with a long ball. Piubel seems free in front of the German goal, but Hendrich cooks the striker strongly.

77. Minute: Lisann Gräwe is also allowed to take part. The Frankfurt native replaces Senß in midfield.

75. Minute: Now the EM host is trying again. Csillag tries from the right, but Minge is able to clear the ball for a corner. Endemann thwarts the cross.

73rd minute: Goal for Germany! This time Freigang doesn’t score the goal. To do this, she puts the ball on the birthday boy and debutante Zicai. The Freiburg player is a bit lucky because her shot is deflected.

67. Minute: And Germany changes a fourth time. Vivien Endemann comes on for Cerci.

64th minute: Goal for Germany! Once again it is the duo from Frankfurt. Wolter breaks through on the right and finds clearance with her half-high cross. The striker doesn’t have to be asked twice and scores her brace.

63. Minute: And the next debut comes. Alara Şehitler replaces Nüsken. FC Bayern’s shooting star just turned 18 two days ago.
