I will sleep at your place: Antoine de Maximy arrives in the Baltic States on RMC Découverte

After Algeria and more recently Taiwan, Antoine de Maximy took the route to the Baltic States, namely Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, three countries located to the East of the Baltic Sea. Lands not so far from France, which will nevertheless lead our globetrotter to discover completely new cultures and villages, which have sometimes been impacted by the war in Ukraine. Between human encounters, cultural festivals and return to the land, Antoine de Maximy's journey once again promises to be exotic and thrilling, with the touch of humor that we know from him.

You will have understood: for this 70th episode of I will go and sleep at your placeAntoine de Maximy does not set out to attack a single country, but it is the entire Baltic States that the former French war correspondent will discover.

For this new journey, he will begin his adventure in Lithuania, and more precisely in the small village of Kurdikos-Naumiestis, located in the south of Lithuania, where less than 2000 inhabitants live. There, Antoine de Maximy will meet Austeja, a city dweller who has taken on the challenge of living a real experience of returning to nature. For this, Austeja decided to return to her grandmother's old house. It is around a good hot home-cooked meal that the city dweller will explain her dreams and projects to our globetrotter and will tell him of her desire to considerably reduce her environmental impact.

After the warm welcome from Austeja, Antoine de Maximy will pick up his backpack to go to Narva, a town in the North-East of Estonia. Narva is notably one of the cities impacted by the war in Ukraine. Initially separated from Russia by a river, the border has been closed since recent attacks in Ukraine. But, no time to rest, the next day is a day of celebration for many residents of Narva. On one side, there is a concert for Russia which celebrates the end of the Second World War and on the other, a second concert for Estonia which celebrates Europe Day.

Finally, Antoine de Maximy's trip will end in Vilnius, capital of Lithuania. It is more precisely in the Republic of Uzupis that the journey of our travel enthusiast will end, who will meet Zilvinas, an artist who has a real passion for mushrooms.
