PRO D2 – The Landes club managed to win away this evening by dominating an uninspired Nevers team. More enterprising, the Dacquois made the break in the second half to win this match with a score of 31 to 24. This defeat does not help Nevers who are looking more and more in the rearview mirror in the standings.
It is the US Dacquoise who carries out the good operation this evening! In addition to winning their second away match of the season, the Landes team puts the back of the peloton at a good distance and can now project themselves towards the heights of the ranking. But to get there, Jean-Frédéric Dubois' men had to battling against a Nevers team that was certainly uninspired but eye-catching until the end.
Dax stings at the opening and closing of the first half
It only took four minutes of play for the visitors to find their way to the goal in this match between the 13th and the 8th. Singer finished between the poles by diving out of the ruck (0/7). On this action, and perhaps for the only time in the match, the Nivernais managed to combine speed and precision to destabilize the opposing defense. Although reduced to 14 against 15 for ten minutes, the Pré Fleuri team managed to stay in the game without developing attractive rugby. In this context, Dax continued his efforts and was rewarded just before the break with a tactical try. After an attempted maul in which 14 Landais put their forces, the ball was catapulted to the foot on the opposite wing where Oltmann successfully took it back (10/15).
Second away success this season for USD
Dominant in the game, the visitors continued their momentum by scoring a third try in the same style as the second. With a foot pass, Ausset inherited the ball and dove into the goal to create a small break on the scoreboard (10/20, 50th). More agile with their hands, the Landais maintained this rapid pace to asphyxiate Nevers. This was almost done when Gatelier scored the fourth try for the Rouge et Blanc at the end of a long and good offensive (10/25, 57th).
Dominated, USON never managed to reverse the trend in the second half. Hope still returned by taking advantage of a Dacquoise hand fault which allowed, after several pick and goes, Mataradze to flatten under the posts (17/25, 61st). Subject to Landes pressure, the Nivernaise team also showed itself to be undisciplined. Two penalties in quick succession (66th and 69th) allowed Dax to widen a gap of 14 points. Nevers' strong try in the 77th minute put a little balm in the hearts of the public with the faint hope of a draw but it ultimately did not happen (24/31).

This result is good for US Dax, which remains within striking distance of the top 6. What is especially positive for this team is the way in which it was able to dominate this meeting. Offensively and defensively, the Landais made a great impression in Nièvre! On the other hand, the situation is getting tougher for the Neversois who are seeing their safety margin dangerously crumble over the teams at the bottom of the table. This evening, USON is in a worrying 13th place, tied with 14th and 15th!
