The former footballer, aged 55, evaluated Kylian Mbappé’s poor performance during the program ‘El Larguero’, where he missed a penalty and struggled in a night to forget at Anfield.
“We must take into account one very important thing. Last year he decided not to renew his contract with PSG and faced tremendous pressure… and he carries this problem from last year. It’s not easy for a young lad to withstand so much pressure,” explained Mijatovic on Cadena SER.
Mbappé comes to a team like Real Madrid, where it is very difficult to play. “He is a tremendously complicated player. You can have great seasons at your previous club, but when you come to Madrid, you encounter a different environment and higher demands in a team that has won six titles in the last ten years,” he pointed out to Manu Carreño.
Mijatovic emphasized that “it’s not so easy to adapt as quickly as we want” and reminded that “there are many factors (Euros, pre-season…) that influence why this lad (Mbappé) is not performing as he really can.”

“I have no doubt that Mbappé will find his perfect form and will start to perform fantastically,” concluded the former Real Madrid player regarding the future of the French forward at Concha Espina.
Manu Carreño reminded Mijatovic that on November 6, after Real Madrid’s 1-3 loss against Morata’s Milan, he already said that “the team has slipped from Ancelotti’s grasp.” More than 20 days later, following the defeat in Liverpool, Mijatovic reaffirmed, “I still think the same.”
“It’s a complicated situation because you have many injured players, and that’s the worst thing that can happen to a coach,” Mijatovic argued before moving on to criticize Ancelotti.

“The feeling is, and that’s why I said that at the time, he wants to please everyone and is listening a bit too much to outside voices. ‘This lad doesn’t play much…’. Well, he should be given minutes. ‘This one should play a bit more…’. Well, give him minutes. That goes against his Football philosophy,” he explained.
Mijatovic defended that “when in a team as important as Real Madrid you meet commitments, what is happening now occurs. Not everyone is so happy, and the team is not getting good results.”
“We shouldn’t look for scapegoats, but the feeling is that the coach is not the same as last year,” he stated about Ancelotti’s role this season at Real Madrid.
Following Real Madrid’s defeat to Milan in the Champions League, Mijatovic remarked on SER that “tonight Real Madrid made me feel sorry… a team that couldn’t even think about a comeback.” The phrase that impacted social media was that “the team has slipped from Ancelotti’s grasp.”

“What solutions can be sought? At this moment, very few, to be honest. I don’t know if Ancelotti has the capacity to react. I don’t know if he has the ability to reset the situation and motivate these players,” he questioned with concern.
