Utah Jazz vs Denver Nuggets recap: The shorthanded Jazz can’t compete. Nikola Jokic, NBA, Colorado

The Utah Jazz got blown out by their division rival, the Denver Nuggets. The Jazz’s 9 man rotation for the night (Drew Eubanks got hurt within 2 minutes of playing time) featured some usuals like Keyonte George (23 points), Collin Sexton (26 points), and Walker Kessler (16 points, 12 boards, 3 blocks), it also featured non-rotational guys like Micah Potter, Svi Mykhailiuk, and Oscar Tshiebwe. 3rd year Jazzman Micah Potter got his first NBA start and he did not disappoint. The former Wisconsin Badger had 9 points and 16 rebounds. The most eye popping stat was that he had positive 5 plus minus ratio in 32 minutes play, no one else on the Jazz had a positive plus minus ratio.

The rag-tag Jazz were unable to impede the potential 4 time MVP Nikola Jokic, who had 30 point on 13-19 shooting, 10 rebounds, and 7 assists. The Joker is having his best statistical season on the year, cementing his legacy as a top-10 NBA player of all-time. This also means that the Jazz may be in trouble for their next 2 games against the Nuggets this season (December 30th, March 28th).

The Jazz had a solid 3 point shooting night, going 16-43. The Jazz continue to be turnover prone, they had 18 turnovers on the night with Isaiah Collier committing the most (4) in only 22 minutes of play. The Jazz also failed to establish a consistent inside scoring presence tonight, they only shot 42% from the field. Without John Collins and his strong inside presence, the Jazz really didn’t have much inside scoring other than Kessler.

The Jazz seems to be all aboard the tank train this season by sitting several veterans this game. Will the Jazz win more than 25 games this season? Comment Below!
