Liverpool – Real Madrid 2:0

Liverpool FC is the only one of the 36 teams in the “new” Champions League to remain without losing a point after five rounds. The “Reds” win 2-0 against Real Madrid at Anfield Road.

World champion Alexis Mac Allister gave Liverpool the lead shortly after the restart. For the disappointing Real, Kylian Mbappé had the best chance when he was able to kick a foul penalty. The Frenchman was denied by Irish goalie Caoimhín Kelleher. Then, at the other end, Mohamed Salah shot a penalty shot past the wrong side of the post, but joker Cody Gakpo made it 2-0 a little later.

Monaco – Benfica 2:3

Benfica’s coach Bruno Lage made a substitution in the 65th minute to seal the win. He brought in the Swiss international Zeki Amdouni and the former Basel striker Arthur Cabral. The Brazilian scored the 2-2 in the Principality in the 84th minute, and four minutes later Amdouni scored the winning goal for the Portuguese with his header.

Benfica benefited from numerical superiority. Wilfried Singo was shown yellow and red after just under an hour. Denis Zakaria and Breel Embolo from the Swiss Monaco faction were in the starting line-up, goalie Philipp Köhn was a replacement.

Red Star Belgrade – VfB Stuttgart 5:1

There was nothing to gain for VfB Stuttgart in the Serbian capital. The Swabians took the lead after just five minutes thanks to ex-St.Gallen player Ermedin Demirovic. Afterwards, of all people, Silas, who was loaned to Belgrade from the Bundesliga club, equalized the game. The VfB Swiss Fabian Rieder and Leonidas Stergiou made partial appearances after the break.
