Real Recognize Real report (11/27) – Major Crystal Ball swing; More fireworks coming?; One last surprise

Welcome to the Real Recognize Real Report. That title isn’t grammatically correct, but it’s not supposed to be. It’s a colloquialism that is commonly used within my family and friend circle, highlighting how a person possessing a particular trait can readily identify others possessing that same trait. A person who is genuine and authentic can recognize other people that are genuine and authentic. The “3R Report” will follow that theme – it’ll always include intel from real, genuine sources whose credibility has been verified. Installments won’t always be long, and they won’t always include huge news, but they’ll always be real.

A change with Meadows

First up in the latest installment of the 3R report is the latest on Michigan’s pursuit of Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman wideout Derek Meadows.  According to multiple sources, the momentum that the Wolverines had built on the heels of Bryce Underwood’s pledge last week has slowed. The signs of that were obvious today. How, you ask? Well… rewind to Saturday, based on recruiting conversations, I heard from a source in Meadows’ circle that the Wolverines had taken a definitive lead and that a decision was likely to come Sunday. I followed up with a source in Michigan class circles  and heard something similar… that a decision was likely “Sunday or Monday.”  That led to me lodging my Crystal Ball pick Saturday evening.

But Sunday, Monday, and then Tuesday passed with no decision – which as I mentioned previously, is a clear sign that momentum has stalled. My read on the situation is that it marks an important calibration of NIL positional slotting for Michigan’s collectives moving forward.
