Since FC Barcelona had three victories, including against Bayern Munich (4:1), the match against Stade Brestois in the Champions League seemed perfect to take a step towards taking a place in the best eight, and thus goes directly to the 1/8 finals.

On the other hand, it was necessary to remember that Hansi Flick's players had recently lost to Real Sociedad (0:1) and drawn with Celta Vigo (2:2), and Stade Brestois was the biggest surprise of the Champions League and was fourth in the table with 10 points.

The beginning of the match proved that the French are capable of surprising. We watched a balanced competition, the guests were able to surprise their rivals, and finally… they made a terrible mistake. After a good cross into the penalty area, Marco Bizot came out of the goal, fouled Robert Lewandowski, and the Pole had no problem putting the ball into the goal from the penalty spot. Not much changed until the end of the first half, and the impatient Lewandowski increasingly retreated into the midfield to help with the action. However, he had no freedom here either, and his opponents did not spare him and we saw two fouls against the Pole in this zone. FC Barcelona could have increased the lead after a brilliant cross from the right side of the field, but then Fermin shot straight at the goalkeeper and until the break we only saw Lewandowski's historic goal.

This time, after a great move by Jules Kounde, the Pole found himself in front of the rivals' penalty area, perfectly timed the ball with his heel towards Fermin Lopez, but once again in this match he shot straight at the goalkeeper.

The Pole's activity could be seen with the naked eye, but it did not always give Barcelona good results. Soon after, Raphinha shot a free kick, the Pole ran towards the goal and eventually blocked his captain's attempt.

In the end, however, Hansi Flick's players achieved their goal. After an action on the left wing, Gerard Martin made a great pass into the penalty area, and Dani Olmo received the ball, passed his opponent and put the ball into the net from close range.

And it all ended with Lewandowski himself, who took advantage of Alejandro Balde's pass in added time and now has 101 goals in the Champions League!

Thanks to the certain victory, Barcelona is in second place in the Champions League table, just behind Inter. In the next match of this competition, Robert Lewandowski and company will face Borussia Dortmund away, and this match will take place on December 11.
