Friends for many years, the First Lady and the singer met this Monday, November 25 for the presentation of the 6th prize from the Line Renaud and Loulou Gasté Endowment Fund.

This Monday, November 25, Brigitte Macron found herself at the center of attention. After speaking for the first time on the Mazan rape trial on BFMTV, the First Lady then took part in the presentation of the 6th prize from the Line Renaud and Loulou Gasté Endowment Fund. During this event, she presented a distinction as well as a financial endowment intended to support a researcher in a major scientific advance. This ceremony, created by Line Renaud, was also the scene of a warm reunion between the two friends. As soon as she arrived, the wife of the President of the Republic went directly to the French singer, proof of their great complicity.

Their reunion was captured by Gala cameras, present to immortalize the event. We discover Line Renaud, surrounded by Muriel Robin and Claude Chirac, impatiently awaiting the arrival of Brigitte Macron. When the First Lady approaches, the singer releases the arms of her attendants to warmly welcome her friend. Brigitte Macron, visibly moved, places her hands on Line Renaud's cheeks before offering her a kiss full of tenderness, testifying to their deep complicity in real life.

“Things had to be said, and they are”

Alongside the event which put her in the spotlight, Brigitte Macron also took advantage of her presence at the awards ceremony to discuss the Mazan rape affair, the final indictment of which took place this Monday, November 25. On this occasion, the public prosecutor requested the maximum sentence of 20 years of criminal imprisonment against Dominique Pélicot, the main accused in the trial, for having drugged, raped and had his wife raped by dozens of men, reports BFMTV. Sentences of 10 to 13 years were also requested against the accomplices. Finally, 4 years in prison were requested for Joseph C., the only one accused of sexual assault, but not of aggravated rape. The verdict in this trial is expected by December 20.

Brigitte Macron, for her part, expressed her support “unconditional to all women” and congratulated Giselle Pélicot for her courage. “Things had to be said, and they are”she declared to BFMTV, while reaffirming her commitment alongside women around the world: “I am with all women in all the struggles. Everywhere we go in the world, we see how much we have to fight because rights are increasingly in decline”she concluded.
