L’Agence France Presse and the specialized site News17 report this Tuesday, November 26, 2024 that a municipal police officer from Saint-Etienne (Loire) had to neutralize a man armed with knives in a street in the city during the afternoon.

Threats against a woman

According to News17 et Progress the man allegedly threatened passers-by near the Christmas market and the prefecture. According to theAFP, in particular, the man held an elderly woman and placed a knife to her throat. He was then targeted by the police officer's shot.

The man was initially seriously injured, before being transferred to an area hospital. His vital prognosis was quickly compromised.
