HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – Good Monday morning. Skies are partly to mostly cloudy early this morning with mild temperatures in the 40s and 50s, things are starting off colder in parts of NE Alabama.
Cloud cover will quickly increase through the morning into the afternoon with warmer high temperatures reaching the upper 60s to lower 70s. Winds look breezy today from the southwest gusting to 25 miles per hour. Most of the afternoon should be dry with just isolated rain showers expected. A cold front will push in later this evening and bring scattered rain showers and isolated thunderstorms across the Tennessee Valley. Rainfall totals won’t amount to much with 0.1 to 0.5 inches of rain expected in most spots, no severe weather is forecast.
Rain showers move out very early Tuesday with skies gradually clearing through the morning. Even with late sunshine, highs on Tuesday will stay cool in the middle 50s with a northwest breeze. Clear skies Tuesday night into Wednesday morning will mean a chilly start to the day with Wednesday morning lows in the middle 30s. Wednesday is mostly cloudy with mild highs reaching the low to middle 60s.
Another cold front will approach the Tennessee Valley late Wednesday evening into Thanksgiving Day. Rain showers and storms are going to develop along the front and track eastward. A few stronger storms and some pockets of heavier rainfall are forecast through mid-morning Thursday. Good news, it should not rain all day on Thanksgiving with dry hours forecast for the afternoon.
Friday into the weekend will bring another surge of colder air with Friday and weekend high temperatures staying in the middle 40s, morning lows are chilly in the 20s to lower 30s!
