“Kamel Ouali came to the rescue”: These two students from the “Star Academy” almost left the castle after a tense discussion with Alexia Laroche-Joubert

“Perhaps I took my role as director a little too seriously”. This Sunday, November 24, Alexia Laroche-Joubert, current CEO of Banijay (a group which brings together several production companies at the head of “Fort Boyard”, “TPMP”, “N' Forget the Lyrics”, “Koh-Lanta” …), was the guest of “Enfants de la télé” on France 2. The emblematic director of the “Star Academy” for 5 seasons looked back on her time in the program, which has been a hit since her return to TF1 in 2022.

“There is still this sequence that I can confess now”

After a tape launched by Laurence Boccolini where we see her severely reprimanding various promotions of the show on the front page, Alexia Laroche-Joubert confided having taken her “role of director perhaps a little too seriously“, even admitting to having sometimes added more. The former director of the castle of Dammarie-les-Lys, then indulged in a confidence on the set of France 2: “There is still this sequence that I can admit now. The day Georges-Alain and Houcine (from “Star Academy” 2, editor's note) find themselves in front of me because they kicked in a door and bothered Nolwenn, I go up and yell at them so much that the guys say: ' no problem, we're leaving‘”.

Alexia Laroche-Joubert then said to herself that she had perhaps gone a little too hard. “And then I say to myself: 'How do I explain to them that they have to stay anyway?'”, she added, eliciting laughter from the audience and other guests. It was ultimately thanks to the program's legendary dance teacher that everything worked out. “It was Kamel Ouali who came to the rescue to collect them“, she explained, assuring that the two candidates really intended to leave the castle. “They were two heads, two idiots, eh!“, she underlined, referring to the “boldand” of Georges-Alain. Puremédias invites you to watch the sequence at the top of the article.
