And to add: “It's something that I manage to regulate when I'm with my friends. But often, when I'm alone, I can caress the darkness for ten minutes really. He explains, for example, that the confinements during the Covid-19 crisis in 2020 made him “a lot of trouble“. He did not understand that many find this moment “wonderful”.
For years, Cali has “a friend who helps him, even if only by talking with him” he assures. He doesn't take medication, but he admits that he is often told that he writes depressive songs. And Cali laughed: “I don't think you have to be depressed to write them, but I like having a stone in my shoe. I like the idea of flagellating myself too, it allows me to absolutely live what I sing.”
Cali sometimes went a little further than depression, and even says he attempted suicide. The singer, however, assures: “I tried, but I did everything I could to fail! I say it with a smile because I was in 4th grade, it was a high school party, and I was madly in love with a girl. And she left with another boy.”
