Kendji Girac was one of Frédéric Lopez's three guests in “A Sunday in the Country” on France 2, this Sunday, November 24, 2024. He returned to the accident which almost cost him his life last April.
Sitting at the table with Dany Boon and Virginie Grimaldi, Kendji Girac notably came to “A Sunday in the Country” to promote his new album “Vivre”.
During the show hosted by Frédéric Lopez, the 28-year-old singer began to talk about his life just after the accident during the night of April 21 to 22 when he shot himself in the chest during an argument with his partner. Highly publicized, the affair also revealed his addictions to alcohol and cocaine, damaging the sunny image of the singer of “Color Gitano”.
“I cut myself off from everything”
“I cut myself off a bit from everything, I didn't see TV for a month, nor my phone. I really needed to take the time and recharge my batteries. The only thing I needed was “It was my family, my wife, my family. Obviously they were there for me at that time.”he expressed himself, echoed by Here is and other French media.
“Love”
The singer of “Les yeux de la mama” told on Frédéric Lopez’s show how he managed to get back on his feet quickly. “It's simply love that rebuilt me incredibly quickly. The love of my family, of my loved ones, of those around me, even of the public. It makes me strange, it's the first time that I'm talking about it”he assured.
“Happy as ever”
Kendji Girac stressed that he was now “happy as ever” and thanked life and people for giving him so much strength.
He also highlighted the great help of Soraya Miranda, his partner and mother of his daughter, in its reconstruction, taken over by TéléLoisirs : “My wife was there every moment, every moment, she gave me strength, tenderness like never before. And she was a little shocked at what was said about her because nothing was true She is a very strong, wonderful woman who managed to get me back on my feet.”
Not a word on what pushed Kendji Girac to commit this gesture. Frédéric Lopez does not revive the singer. “I don't have this curiosity, even in my private life, had entrusted the facilitator to Free Midday. What interests me is how people are doing. I just wanted to know if he was okay. I tell myself that the rest must be discussed with his psychologist. I would be embarrassed to ask these kinds of questions publicly in front of cameras, even in private. I don’t have that curiosity.”
