On September 23, 1944, LOSC was born. 80 years later, the club still arouses the fervor of its supporters at the Pierre Mauroy stadium.
More than a hundred LOSC legends walked the red carpet in front of the Pierre Mauroy stadium, to the delight of the supporters. Rudi Garcia, Ludovic Obraniak, Amandine Henry… and Vahid Halilhodzic went to meet the crowd who were waiting for them. You can hear him shouting in unison “Unit! Unit!” upon the arrival of the LOSC coach from 1998 to 2002.
The 80th anniversary of the Lille club was an opportunity for alumni to get together and meet the public again.
Jerseys, scarves, flag… everything is good to receive an autograph. A supporter confirms: “Experiencing moments like that, with stars like that, it’s magical!”
“I saw my first match in January 1950.” The oldest LOSC supporter was rewarded with a collector's jersey and a trophy. He has been loyal to the club for 74 years. Enough to make you want to support it for many more years.
The 12th day of Ligue 1 which pitted Lille against Rennes aroused the emotion of the public, who came in large numbers for this historic day.
Final score: 1 – 0 for Lille, thanks to Edon Zhegrova.
The meeting was followed by a concert by Martin Solveig, ready to make the audience at the Pierre Mauroy stadium dance.
