The PSD candidate, Marcel Ciolacu, lost the first round of the presidential elections in Prahova county, being defeated by the independent Călin Georgescu with over 20,000 votes.

In Prahova, Călin Georgescu was voted by 82,278 people and obtained an electoral score of 26.03%, according to News.ro.

At a long distance, in second place is Marcel Ciolacu, with 61,709 votes representing 19.53%.

Elena Lasconi obtained 57,503 votes in Prahova, the equivalent of 18.2%, and George Simion was voted by 45,880 people (14.52%) of those present at the polls.

Nicolae Ciucă was voted by 26,447 people, obtaining only 8.37% of the votes in Prahova, a county where PNL claims to have one of the strongest party organizations, while Mircea Geoană has 21,980 votes, representing 6.96% from the total at county level.ciola
