Nobody can keep up with Clément Noël in the first slalom run in Gurgl. The Swiss are tied back, Tanguy Nef is a good half a second away from the podium.
In the second slalom of the season, Levi winner Clément Noël once again completed the first run as the fastest. In Gurgl, the Frenchman leads at the halfway point of the race ahead of Atle Lie McGrath and Steven Amiez.
As the second driver, Clément Noël puts in a real dream run in the snow in Gurgl. The Frenchman takes over three seconds from the faulty Linus Strasser. The rest can’t keep up with him later either.
Loïc Meillard also lost a lot of time to the French, ultimately losing 1.78 seconds. This means that the third at the start of the slalom season ends up in 14th place in the first Gurgl run, directly behind Henrik Kristoffersen.
Marc Rochat slipped after a slow starting slope and was eliminated. Likewise, the local favorites Manuel Feller and Johannes Strolz also failed to finish their race.
Lucas Braathen is doing well in his second race for Brazil, but then gives up. The same thing happened to the second prominent returnee of the ski winter: Marcel Hirscher missed a goal after an inside ski and was eliminated.
Daniel Yule cannot improve the Swiss record much, he continuously loses time and ends up in 21st place. He starts the second run 2.08 seconds behind. Later, Luca Aerni was four hundredths of a second behind.
Tanguy Nef starts off strong, then slips slightly on the steep slope and later has another slide. Nevertheless, the fifth-place finisher in the Levi race holds on well and finishes in the top ten, just under a second and a half behind.
Ramon Zenhäuser is having a hard time, but puts in a strong final section. This will at least give him another opportunity to improve in the second run. But he will have to tackle this 2.75 seconds behind.
