Saturday, November 23, the residents of Vimy (Pas-de-Calais) wanted to pay tribute to Laetitia and her two sons Nael and Yanis, who died in a road accident that occurred a week earlier. A tragedy which aroused great emotion in the town.

Behind the photos of Nael and Yanis, a united and shocked population. Family, friends, children, elected officials, gathered to walk in silence in memory of Laetitia and her two sons.
The mother and her two children aged 8 and 10 were killed in a road accident on Saturday November 16, hit from behind by another vehicle while they were traveling on the A26.
“It's unacceptable because it's a family, the mother was my age, the children are at school together, it's a tragedy“, deplores a resident. “The time has come for contemplation above all, we have a huge thought for the children of course and the mother“, confides another resident moved.

In front of the town hall, a tent decorated with drawings by the children of the school and the football club where one of the sons played. Hundreds of roses and candles are placed there. “We are all touched, the club is touched, the city is touched and we are all here to pay our respects.“
“Yanis was that light for us, a friend whose kindness, joy and presence warmed our hearts“. On the square in front of the town hall, a classmate of Yanis reads the text she wrote to him before playing a few notes on the transverse flute.
“It warms our hearts to see such mobilization, such solidarity, such dignity to share the grief and begin to mourn.“, underlines the mayor of the town Christian Sprimont.
The funeral of Laetitia and her children will take place on Tuesday November 26 in the Vimy church, a little over a week after the accident which cost them their lives on the A26 motorway in Arrageois.
The driver who violently hit them from behind is still in serious condition at the Lille CHR. Toxicological analyzes established the presence of narcotics in his blood.
