Jules Kounde says he feels responsible for Barcelona’s 2-2 draw against Celta on Saturday.
The Frenchman was guilty of not clearing the ball as Celta made it 2-1, with Gavi admitting afterwards it was a “stupid” piece of play.
Kounde conceded afterwards he made a mistake and says the team need to get back on track after two games without a win in La Liga.
“We didn’t do what we needed to do throughout the match and in the end we were punished. Starting with me, I didn’t play a good game. I lacked concentration. In a very simple play I made a very gross mistake. That mistake hurt us,” he said.
“It’s a learning experience for everyone. It’s been a bit easy for us. We haven’t played well in the last two games. We have to get back to our level. When things are going well it’s very easy. Now we have to be united and get back to our best phase.”
Kounde also spoke about Celta’s disallowed goal and felt he could have done better.
“I can see very clearly that the ball has gone out and I stop,” he added. “That reflects what I said, the lack of concentration even though I can see clearly that it has gone out, I have to continue. These are details that I wasn’t involved in today. I accept it, there’s no need to get down on myself. We tied the game because of me.”
Barcelona go on to play Brest in the Champions League and will aim to get back to winning ways with victory over the French side.
