The driver of a Blablacar bus lost control of his vehicle this Friday morning on the A6b motorway, which was particularly icy. The bus overturned across the road, crushing a number of cars in its path and causing several serious injuries.
An image that sends chills down your spine. While snow and negative temperatures have made traffic conditions difficult across a large part of France since yesterday morning, a Blablacar bus overturned on the A6b motorway near Chevilly-Larue (Val-de-Marne ) this Friday morning.
According to our information, a motorcycle first slipped, causing its driver to fall, on a road described by one of our journalists as “a real ice rink”. A white car which was following the latter “looted” to avoid him. Unfortunately, the bus coming behind crashed into the white car, taking it and the motorcycle in its path.
The bus went partially onto the right-hand reservation before turning around and crushing several vehicles in its path. “We heard screaming at one point and I felt the bus skidding. He crashed on the ground, on cars,” one of the bus passengers testified to CNEWS.
“The bus driver was going a little fast”
“The road was slippery but the driver was going a little fast. He wanted to brake but as it was slipping, he skidded,” said another passenger.
The bus left at 11 p.m. from the Bercy bus station towards Rennes. Some passengers were quite affected by this accident. “Personally, I was shocked. I was afraid of dying,” assured a third passenger into our microphone.
According to an initial provisional report drawn up by the SAMU, there are more than twenty injured, some of whom are in serious condition, but no deaths to be reported for the moment.
On the scene, more than thirty firefighters, police officers and members of the SAMU were mobilized to help the victims of this accident. The NOVI plan, aimed at rescuing a large number of victims in the same place, was activated, as was the SINUS system allowing the census and monitoring of victims.
