Valeriu Iftime’s first reaction after FC Botoșani defeated FCSB: “One thing is clear”

With numerous batch problems and a difficult field in Botoșani, the FCSB champion suffered a dramatic setback. The hosts struck at the very last stage, in the 90+8th minute, when Zoran Mitrov scored from a free kick from the edge of the box.

For FC Botoșani, it is the first victory in history against FCSB on their own ground, in the conditions where the Moldovans have been evolving continuously on the first stage of Romanian football since 2013.

Valeriu Iftimethe financier of FC Botoșani, congratulated his team for the victory, noting the dedication of Liviu Ciobotariu’s students. Before the game, Iftime promised special bonuses in case of success.

After the delay from Botoșani, all the Superliga teams have played 16 matches. FCSB remains in 6th place, with 24 points, six lengths behind leader FC Botoșani.

On the other side, FC Botoșani climbs to 14th, with 16 points.
