The German-Italian, born in 1974, gained his first radio experience after graduating from high school, working in community service at Radio Klinikfunk in Wiesbaden. This was followed by studies in American studies, law and history in Konstanz – and then editorial training at NDR. He then worked as a reporter at NDR before gaining his first experience as a presenter on formats such as “NDR aktuell” and “Weltbilder”. The start of a steep career on TV!

Ingo Zamperoni moderated the Tagesthemen from 2012 and later moved to the ARD studio in Washington as a correspondent. In 2016 he returned to daily topics. The couple now has three children together. Ingo Zamperoni and his wife occasionally appear together in public – and the two have also been heard together on the podcast “America, we have to talk”.
