“I say stop”: the mayor of Clermont-Ferrand files a complaint after the broadcast of a “violent” video

The councilor reacts. The mayor of Clermont-Ferrand (Puy-de-Dôme) Olivier Bianchi filed a complaint this Thursday after the broadcast on the social network other elected officials. In this video, we can see his face as well as that of two of his deputies, Cyril Cineux and Thomas Weibel, crushed, while that of the environmentalist deputy for Puy-de-Dôme Nicolas Bonnet is cut with a blade.

After making a report this Monday to the public prosecutor, Olivier Bianchi filed a complaint in his own name, and his elected colleagues did the same, his entourage said. “I deplore and condemn this symbolic violence against local elected officials which is part of an increasingly deleterious national climate,” Olivier Bianchi declared in a press release. “Deleterious and dangerous because we have already experienced several physical attacks, sometimes very serious, against elected officials which followed such degrading images or insults online,” he added.

“I have let hateful and insulting messages get through for a long time, but today my deputies are also targeted and I consider that we have crossed a red line and I say stop,” he continues, saying he does not accept “the threat , physical intimidation, particularly odious when it comes to cutting off a head with a knife or putting it through a pestle.”

The report sent to the public prosecutor's office this Monday was transmitted Tuesday to the police station for investigation, indicated Dominique Puechmaille, public prosecutor of Clermont-Ferrand.
