They moved up a gear. After the angry movement of this Monday, November 18, Charente farmers reached a milestone this Wednesday. At the end of their national congress, at Futuroscope in Poitiers, the farmers of the Rural Coordination took the direction of Ruffec. Around 7:30 p.m., they positioned themselves in front of the Leclerc food logistics base: Scachap. 25 tractors in convoy threw tires and manure in front of the gates.
Around 8 p.m., the Young Farmers (JA) started a major action in Angoulême. Around forty skips left the Girac and Castorama hospital. With the intention of hitting hard: the JA transport 300 tonnes of manure. Four large skips were dumped in front of the premises of the French Biodiversity Office in Nersac. Others left for the MSA side of Isle d'Espagnac. In the city center, manure and tires were placed in front of the Departmental Territorial Directorate. The JA now go to the prefecture with still dumpsters to dump.
The young farmers, around Richard Jérémy, their president, announce that, on Wednesday evening, they will dump the manure on the road to Europe, in front of the DDT on boulevard Duroselle, in front of the prefecture, in front of the agency of water, in front of the Biodiversity Office and in front of the Mutuelle sociale agricole (MSA).
In Ruffec, in front of the Scachap, François Turpeau, the president of Rural Coordination 86, explains: “The purpose of our action this evening is to block the depot. As I speak to you (7:35 p.m. this Wednesday), there are around fifty people there, others will arrive.”
The Charente Rural Coordination came to reinforce the CR86 in Ruffec this Wednesday evening. Laëtitia Plumat, the president of CR16 displays her bitterness.
State services have warned of “serious traffic disruptions from this Wednesday afternoon. The Vienne prefecture has recommended motorists to avoid the RN 10 from the south of Poitiers towards Charente. But also the RD 148 which links Civray to Ruffec.
The convoy to Ruffec caused traffic disruptions. State services have announced diversions, heavy goods vehicles must take the A10 motorway in the Poitiers-Bordeaux direction. For light vehicles, a diversion route is set up via the D 611 towards Lusignan.
Several gathering points are planned throughout Charente this Thursday. At 8:30 a.m. in front of the Berguille restaurant in Roullet and at La Pinotière in La Couronne.
These two convoys will block the Intermarché base in Roullet. Also meet at 8:30 a.m. at the Rouillac fairgrounds and in the Ocealia parking lot in Chasseneuil. The farmers will leave from these last two assembly points to go to the Lidl logistics base in Vars. Farmers from CR 16 will also go to the Scachap de Ruffec.
