Based in the Loiret, in Givraines, for half a century, the designer Bernadette Després created the people of Tom-Tom and Nana in 1977.
The illustrator Bernadette Després has died, confirmed to Monde Bayard editions, Wednesday November 20. She was 83 years old.
Born on March 28, 1941, based in the Loiret in Givraines for 50 years, she created in 1977, in the pages of I like to readthe characters Tom-Tom and Nana. A series of 34 albums for children, sold more than 15 million copies
Raised to the rank of Knight of the Legion of Honor in 2021, the designer regularly opened the doors of her house in Givraines to the public, dedicated to her favorite characters.
