Snow and ice: Météo places Aisne on yellow alert

This was to be expected with the drop in temperatures. This Wednesday, November 20, 2024, Météo placed 30 departments on yellow or orange vigilance at the risk of ice and snow, mainly in the north-east of the country and the Auvergne – Rhône-Alpes region.

In Picardy, two departments are concerned. These are Aisne and Oise, which are placed on yellow alert. This alert level comes into force from 7 p.m. this Wednesday and will be valid for most of the day Thursday, November 21. Vigilance will be lifted in the middle of the day, from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m., before being reactivated. The department is not affected by these vigilances.

Snow forecast in southern Picardy

For Thursday, temperatures in Picardy will vary between 0 and 5 degrees. Maximum temperatures will be observed on the Picardy coast.

Still for the same day of Thursday, Météo France announces snowflakes almost everywhere in Oise and in the south of Aisne.

For the yellow vigilance threshold, Météo France recommends being attentive. A message which is particularly aimed at road users.
