A 27-year-old young woman, six and a half months pregnant, lost the child she was expecting in a collision with her car.
The Melun public prosecutor's office had requested the referral of the comedian to court for “involuntary homicide”, going against the jurisprudence of the Court of Cassation which considers that the death of the fetus, because it cannot be considered a legal person, cannot be blamed on anyone.
The investigating judge finally resolved the legal question of the status of the fetus by referring Pierre Palmade to court for “unintentional injuries”.
Mourad Battikh, lawyer for the civil parties, plans to re-question the court on this point during the hearing.
