Guest on the set of C to youJulien Doré spoke about his resumption of Mama's eyes by Kendji Girac in which he chose to include a message from his deceased mother. An initiative that inspired Anne-Elisabeth Lemoine!
Julien Doré has just released a new album called Impostor. In this new opus, the singer covers a series of very eclectic titles and performs some unexpected duets. Among these songs, he performs Mama's eyes by Kendji Girac. In the introduction to this piece, the father of a little boy decided to include a message that his mother, who died in 2022, had left on his answering machine. “I am very happy that it is now fixed in my album. My son will be able to hear his grandmother”, he explained in the columns of Parisian.
Julien Doré explains why he slipped a message from his mother on his album
Julien Doré was the guest of C to you this Tuesday, November 19. Emilie Tran NGuyen questioned the singer about his choice to include this message in the introduction to his song. “We first recorded the cover and it's true that it raised a lot of things for me. When the evening came, I searched my phone to find fragments of his presence and his voice. I thought realized that I had almost no more, that I had one audio message left”, explained the artist. He therefore shared it on his album in order to perhaps raise awareness among those who will hear it. “And while listening to it, I said to myself perhaps that by slipping it into this beginning of the song, something extremely intimate, it would possibly become more universal in the sense that I could allow myself to say to the sons and to the girls who sometimes complain a little because they have a lot of messages on their answering machine from their mother, to think about keeping a few of them”, he continued.
Anne-Elisabeth Lemoine reacts to Julien Doré's idea
Julien Doré's message was obviously understood by Anne-Elisabeth Lemoine. “That’s what I did immediately after listening to the song”, confided the host, visibly touched by this mention. “And I keep them all, I don’t know why. And they all start the same. 'Hi Babeth, it's mom'. All, all the same“she emphasized.
