Kamel Ouali's house destroyed to build the Stade de France
In the 1980s, Kamel Ouali lived in a dead end located in Seine-Saint-Denis. “It was in this house that I took my first dance steps. It looked more like a cabin than a house, but we felt good here”he continued.
The choreographer then deplored the fact that at the time, things had not not been properly explained to the inhabitants of this area. “We weren't shown any sketches. We weren't told they were going to build something fabulous. It was: 'Come on, now you get out of the way, and we're going to build a stadium'. So it's true that there was pressure and a sense of urgency. My parents were uprooted a second time…”he declared.
