Following a disappointing 1-0 loss to Sierra Leone on October 15, the Ivorian national team, known as the Elephants, suffered another setback against Zambia, losing 1-0 on Friday, November 15 2024.
In light of these consecutive defeats, Idriss Diallo, the president of the Ivorian Football Federation, emphatically affirmed that a careful and honest assessment will be carried out.
“We will conduct a no-holds-barred review internally with players, coaching staff and administration to address gaps and inefficiencies, while optimally preparing for the challenges ahead, including World Cup qualifying. World 2026,” he declared on his official Facebook page.
Additionally, Diallo called for solidarity among Ivorians, emphasizing the importance of collective support for meaningful victories.
“I urge you all to come and support our Elephants, who owe you performances worthy of their prestigious status. We will have the opportunity to celebrate this qualification together, which will allow us to defend our title in a year,” a- he implored.

The Elephants will face Chad this Tuesday, November 19 at the Stade Félix Houphouët-Boigny in the sixth and final round of qualifying for CAN 2025. It is important to note that Côte d’Ivoire has already ensured its qualification for the final phases, thanks to a draw between Sierra Leone and Chad.
