Between 2 and 5cm of snow are expected over a large part of France this Thursday, November 21, from Brittany to Burgundy via Normandy. Frosts are also expected, making the roads slippery.
Snow is coming to Normandy. Snowflakes are expected in the region this Thursday, November 21, according to the first forecasts from Météo-France reported to BFMTV.com this Tuesday.
The south of Normandy concerned
In detail, these are “around 2 to 5cm” of snow volumes which are expected “in most of the regions concerned”. Indeed, this first episode of snow at the end of the year will affect France from East to West between Wednesday and Thursday.
“The regions going from Lower Normandy, to the Pays de la Loire, via the Center and Burgundy to Franche-Comté currently seem the most privileged to observe a small layer of snow on the ground”, indicates Météo France.
Not all of Normandy will be affected by these snowfalls, which are, for the moment, not yet certain. The south of Eure and Orne will be the sectors most to watch. According to the Météo-France website, snow is currently expected on Thursday afternoon in the municipalities of Alençon, Argentan and Domfront.
Towards a rain-snow mix in places
Precipitation is expected at the start of the week, first in the English Channel then in the rest of the region with 30 to 40mm of rain, accompanied by gusts of wind.
A lull is expected this Wednesday, but the drop in temperatures will continue while “small frosts” are expected to occur, confides meteorologist Patrick Marlière to BFM Normandie.
Cold weather, which will favor new showers forecast for Thursday and Friday and the appearance of a rain-snow mixture, “or even snowfall during the day”, continues the specialist.
