Zelensky calls on Europe to maintain support for Ukraine

As this Tuesday, November 19, marks the thousandth day of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky spoke before the European Parliament to ask for more help to end the war.

“We must do everything we can to end this war.” Invited to speak before the European Parliament this Tuesday, November 19, on the thousandth day of the Russian invasion, Volodymyr Zelensky urged Europeans to continue their commitment alongside his country in the face of a still determined Vladimir Putin.

In a speech lasting around ten minutes, the Ukrainian president “push Russia towards peace, and only peace”. According to him, the Russian president will not end the war on his own.

“Putin is focused on winning this war that he will not stop on his own,” he said by videoconference.

Hence the need, according to him, to “engage in serious negotiations” with Russia, to firmly sanction “every blow or threat” of the Russian army against the Ukrainian population, as well as to continue to reduce the capacity of Moscow to finance the war through the sale of oil, which according to him keeps Vladimir Putin's regime alive.

“Don’t be afraid to do even more”

During this speech, Volodymyr Zelensky several times expressed his thanks to the European nations who have supported Ukraine since the start of the conflict.

“Two years ago we proposed a peaceful solution, and I am grateful to Europe, you were among the first to support this formula. The only one who opposes it is the one who started this war: c 'is Russia.'

“Together we have accomplished a lot, but we must not be afraid to do even more,” he concluded.
