The Board Chairman of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Seth Panwum has called for the immediate sacking of Black Stars coach Otto Addo following the teams’ 2025 African Cup of Nations qualification failure.

Ghana, who are four-time champions of the AFCON struggled in the qualifying series, losing three games and drawing three. Playing six games without a win, the West African powerhouse finished bottom of Group F with just three points.

The Black Stars will now miss out on the AFCON tournament for the first time in 20-years. The last time Ghana failed to qualify for the CAF’s biggest event was back in 2004.

Speaking to Angel FM, Seth Panwum expressed his displeasure about the Black Stars inability to secure AFCON spot while advocating for the sacking of Otto Addo, since he signed a performance based contract with the Ghana FA.

“Otto Addo must be sacked because he was given a performance contract and he has failed to perform” he said.

Meanwhile, the Executive Council of the Ghana FA are scheduled for a crucial meeting on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, and will determine Otto Addo’s faith.

Having failed to secure qualification to the AFCON, the Black Stars will now shift their attention to the 2026 World Cup qualifications.

The four-time AFCON champions will return for the continuation of the World Cup qualifiers in March 2026.
