“I can't fail on that”: Maureen on the verge of tears during the recording of Grégory Lemarchal's song in Star Academy

In the daily life of Star Academy broadcast on TF1 this Sunday, November 17, the students were surprised to see Quentin Mosimann and Lucie Bernardoni arrive, who came to make a special announcement to them.

A special announcement!

It's alumni week and the 20th anniversary of Star Ac 4. If I have the honor today to be with Mosimann, it's for a rather special reason. You will discover for the first time what Grégory (Lemarchal, editor's note) wrote in 2007 and for which Quentin made the musical arrangement and you will have the honor of recording this title in the studio today.” she told them.

Quentin wanted to express his feelings about this situation. “I won't hide from you that it's also a lot of emotion for us because we did that with Pierre and Laurence, with the family.” he said.

Maureen bursts into tears

Maureen was touched by this announcement because her mother was the victim of “several diseases” as she confided in front of the camera. “I think that fully sums up my mother's situation. That's why I take it so seriously, I can't fail on that” she expressed in tears.

During the recording of the piece, the young woman had great difficulty containing her emotion. “I've been working for two hours and I can't do it, it's boring. (…) I think I'm putting pressure on myself” she said.

The young woman was able to count on the support of Lucie Bernardoni, who sent her a few words of encouragement before finishing her recording.

Maureen finally managed to sing her part of the piece written by Grégory Lemarchal. Just before, the students had received a short video from the parents of Grégory Lemarchal, who wanted to express themselves on the illness from which their son suffered, cystic fibrosis, and to send a few words of encouragement to the candidates.
