Croatia and Denmark are in the Nations League quarter-finals

Croatia and Denmark have reached the quarter-finals of the Nations League and, like Italy, can become a possible opponent of the German national football team in the round of the last eight.

The Croatians secured second place behind group winners Portugal on the final matchday of Group A1. A 1:1 (0:1) against Portugal was enough for the Croatians. Poland is relegated to League B after a 1:2 (0:1) home defeat against Scotland. As third in the group, the Scots have to compete in the relegation against a group runner-up in League B and fight to stay in the league.

Denmark's draw against Serbia is enough for the quarter-finals

In Group A4, the Danes qualified for the quarter-finals behind group winners Spain. In the direct duel for second place, a 0-0 draw against Serbia in new national coach Brian Riemer's second game was enough for the Danes to maintain second place. As third in the group, Serbia still has to worry about staying in the league. Defending champion Spain won the parallel game 3-2 (1-0) against the Swiss, who had already been relegated to League B before the last group game day.

Italy had already missed out on first place in Group A2 on Sunday due to a 3-1 defeat against and had to settle for second place. The quarterfinals will be drawn on Friday.

Former Leipzig player Gvardiol celebrated goalscorer in Split

In Split, Josko Gvardiol for Croatia, 2023 Nations League finalist, equalized in the 66th minute after his header had been disallowed for offside two minutes earlier. Joao Felix (33rd) gave Portugal the lead in the first half. As safe group winners, the guests rotated a lot, including Cristiano Ronaldo, who recently scored twice in the 5-1 win against Poland.

Andy Robertson scored Scotland's victory against Poland in the third minute of added time and saved the Bravehearts from relegation. After just four minutes, the guests took the lead through John McGinn, and the Poles equalized through Kamil Piatkowski (59').
