three good news and one bad news for Pape Thiaw

Senegal will face Burundi this Tuesday, November 18 (7 p.m. GMT) at the Abdoulaye-Wade stadium in Diamniadio. In view of this match on the sixth and final day of CAN 2025 qualifying, Pape Thiaw’s men, leaders of group L, trained this Sunday in the annex to the match venue. The interim national coach had three good reasons to show a smile and one to wear a grimace.

The bad news: Boulaye Dia is out. Once again. Absent from Burkina-Senegal (1-1), last Thursday, the Lazio Rome striker, struck down by a bout of malaria, has not fully recovered. He was allowed to return to his club in Italy. He also confirmed the information relayed the news on site, according to L’Observateur, which provides the information.

The daily newspaper of the Future Media Group, however, announces three good news. One: Lamine Camara is back in the group. Another notable absentee from the Stallions-Lions face-to-face on the fifth day of qualifying, with Dia, the Monaco midfielder, injured in the adductor muscles, trained on Friday and yesterday. “The player was also subjected to several explosive tests. History of getting him back into shape so that he can hold his place against Burundi,” deciphers the newspaper.

Second and third good news: Krépin Diatta and El Hadji Malick Diouf. The two starters on the wings of the Senegalese defense against Burkina are also back in the group. Their knee problems, for the first, and their ankle problems, for the second, seem distant. Spared on Friday, the residents of Monaco and Slavia Prague took part in the penultimate session of the Lions before Burundi, reports L’Observateur.
