Tedesco’s departure seems close, but who to replace him? Several names will be mentioned… – All football

Was this Domenico Tedesco’s last match at the head of the Devils? It’s likely. But who should replace the German-Italian coach?

Domenico Tedesco should not be light-hearted as he closes his calendar year with the Red Devils. 4 victories in 14 matches is a bitter failure. Successes against Montenegro, Luxembourg, Romania and Israel are clearly insufficient.

This was again the case this Sunday evening. Ranked 81st in the FIFA rankings, the Israel team did not flinch in the face of the disorganized attacking play of the Belgians. In Budapest, Tedesco experienced another bitter failure.

However, the coach still believes things will turn around by March – when World Cup qualifying begins. He’s not throwing in the towel yet, but should Vincent Mannaert already make a definitive decision?

Officially, it will not take place until December 1, but the situation already requires discussion. Reversing the trend promises to be very difficult for Tedesco, and this is something that the experienced Mannaert also knows. He already has enough experience with coaches being put under pressure by fans and the media.

Many big names are available: Xavi, Van Nistelrooij, Hjulmand…

However, it must also take into account the budget. Laying off Tedesco and his staff would be expensive (read here). Additionally, the budget will not be increased without a big tournament next year. So who could he hire to replace Tedesco? Belgian coaches who could potentially take his place are rare. Huh Vanhaezebrouck? Philippe Clement? The choices are limited.

It would take someone with enough authority, but also team management skills to lead this group. Or a foreign coach? There are some available with prestigious names such as Ruud van Nistelrooij, Xavi, Massimiliano Allegri, Joachim Löw, Frank Lampard, Kasper Hjulmand, Rudi Garcia… And you, what do you think?
