Take out the umbrellas! This Tuesday promises to be very rainy throughout France. As the Weather Channel explains, a powerful disturbance will sweep across the entire country, arriving from the North this Monday evening. It will continue its route to the South throughout the day, sparing no place, according to the forecast.
As a result, from tonight, a large northern third of the country will be affected by precipitation, notably the Somme and Seine-Maritime, already prey to the disturbance that descended from the British Isles this Monday morning. These two departments are affected by very localized flood risks. The south of the territory will be spared a good part of the day on Tuesday, thanks to an anticyclone, but should also be under rain in the evening and night from Tuesday to Wednesday.
The Weather Channel warns of significant accumulations in certain regions on Tuesday. 27 mm are expected locally in Pas-de-Calais, 38 mm in Haut-Rhin and Cantal, 39 mm or even 43 mm in places in Savoie, as well as 43 mm in Jura. This Monday morning, more than 50 mm have already been recorded in Eu (Seine-Maritime).
Precipitation may be accompanied by gusts sometimes up to 80 or 90 km/h, predicts the Météo Chaîne, particularly in Cotentin, in Marne, in Finistère and in the far east of France in the evening.
According to the Météo-villes website, if the trend showing an expected cooling during the week is “reliable”, this is less the case in terms of disturbances. They depend on secondary depressions, “poorly understood by the models”, specifies the site.
