Domenico Tedesco’s days with the Red Devils seem to be numbered. It is up to Vincent Mannaert to decide when the German will get his C4.
Marc Degryse saw that things were not going well against Italy either. All the positive things that were against France disappeared like snow in the sun. Communication also went wrong.
Tedesco even seems to have resigned himself to his fate, as Franky Van Der Elst noted. He concluded this from the very bizarre laugh that the national coach did, just after the final whistle against Italy.
According to Marc Degryse, Tedesco will get one last chance. “I think there will be talks and that Mannaert will want to give Tedesco the time to get started on it,” said Het Laatste Nieuws.
“I expect that Mannaert will take the jump-off competitions in March into account in his considerations, before that I do not see the association putting Tedesco aside.”
Although it is clear that if Tedesco is pushed aside, it will certainly happen before the start of the World Cup qualifying campaign. “We will be there at the 2026 World Cup, you should have no doubt about that,” Degryse is certain.
“The question is whether Mannaert believes enough that Tedesco, once we are in America, Mexico or Canada, has learned the right lessons from the European Championship and this Nations League. I certainly don’t have that feeling.”
