NBA Predictions & Preview For Sunday, November 17th
Charlotte Hornets vs Cleveland Cavaliers
Start Time – 6:00 PM EAST
Will the 14-0 Cleveland Cavaliers ever lose this season?! The team must not have much faith in the Charlotte Hornets being the one to serve them their first L because they are resting star Donovan Mitchell for tomorrow’s game. Even after considering his immense value to the team, the Cavs on the spread is still one of the best bets tomorrow.
Charlotte played on Saturday (a win over the Milwaukee Bucks), so this is a back-to-back for them, and Cleveland is at home. Both these facts are worth 6.5 points in Cleveland’s favor, historically. Cleveland -16 would still be a playable line.

Atlanta Hawks vs Portland Trail Blazers
Start Time – 6:00 PM EAST
Of all the games on the schedule, this one is one of the games I’m making a bet on?! Indeed it is – but we don’t have to watch the game to bet on it. And my numbers say to go with the home team, the Portland Trail Blazers, on the spread.
The Blazers will be without Anfernee Simons and Deandre Ayton tomorrow, but Ayton is a negative plus/minus player this season, so that’s probably addition via subtraction. The 6-7 Atlanta Hawks and the 5-8 Trail Blazers aren’t just close in terms of wins and losses – they are in advanced stats when you look under the hood, too. When you add in the four-point advantage home court is worth in the NBA, I have this line calculated as Portland -2.
