THIS is where his hatred of women comes from

Mike Cees (37) and women – a topic in itself. A topic with which the reality star made it to the public a few years ago. The DJ was hoping for his breakthrough as a seducer on “Temptation Island” in 2020, but he only really became known through his relationship with actress Michelle Monballijn (45). This was followed by participation in “The Summer House of the Stars”, which earned Mike the reputation of a toxic narcissist.

To this day he has not managed to get rid of this reputation – on the contrary. Not only did Mike present himself as a bad loser on “Celebrity Separate” when it came to his marriage to Michelle, he also lived up to his image as a control freak in his relationship with Delia Grösch (35). But where does Mike’s problem with women actually come from?

The relationship chaos of Mike Cees and Delia Grösch

When the Berliner KURIER spoke to Mike several times a few months ago, it became apparent that the 37-year-old has a strong compulsion to control. He himself saw it differently. “I don’t have a control addiction, I have a protective instinct. And if I notice something is wrong, I protect her,” he said in July after an argument with Delia.

At that time, he immediately ended the relationship because Delia didn’t tell him every step of the way while partying in Munich. Mike felt like his trust had been betrayed. “It’s all been exposed. She lied to me and kept some things from me. I experienced certain things. People call me from clubs in Munich, send me pictures and tell me that my partner is with them at the moment. (…) If I notice that someone is fibbing, I’m out. We are actually a great couple and complement each other well. But I don’t want to be taken for a ride.” Mike wanted to give Delia another chance, under one condition. “There are some points that need to be met now. This includes: replacing the entire environment with immediate effect.”

Even during this time when Mike made the rules in the relationship, Delia stuck by him. Today the tide has long since turned. When Mike went to prison a few weeks ago for fraud, Delia learned things that turned everything upside down. “On the first day of incarceration, a few women came up to me and told me that Mike had been cheating on me for months, writing to other women, talking on the phone, letting them send him money and trying to move in with them. (…) This time the separation is final, I will never forgive him. A few other things came to light. For example, that he had everything planned from the beginning. It’s absolutely terrifying. “I never knew this person, I have no idea who I lived with for five months,” Delia told the Berliner KURIER.

Control, dependency, accusations and threats

Delia then created her own YouTube channel, where she now regularly publishes videos in which she opens up about the relationship. During their time together in Dubai, where the couple actually wanted to emigrate, according to Delia, he couldn’t stand it when she was the center of attention and not him: “He tried to prevent me from getting any advantage from him while he was the one “I wanted to use my relationship with me to get into the media and generate more clicks on YouTube.”

According to Delia, Mike quickly became aggressive and repeatedly tried to start an argument. Delia’s descriptions make it clear how important it was for Mike to maintain control when it came to love and to bind Delia to him in a kind of dependent relationship. He wanted to be in control – including over whether the relationship continued or not. According to Delia, he is said to have repeatedly threatened to finish her off or have her appear in public if she didn’t do what he asked. During a brief breakup, Mike even posted videos one night saying bad things to Delia. Still, she forgave him.

As has now emerged, Mike also secretly recorded conversations with Delia in which he accused her of not being “straight” – apparently the most important thing in life for Mike. If he feels like he’s being betrayed, it’s over.

Mike’s relationship with women generally seems to be difficult. He can’t live without her and seems to have several on-off relationships and affairs at the same time, something he’s somewhat proud of (quote: “I have my experiences with women…many women”). His exes have often opened up about their experiences with the “Toxic Dude” in YouTube videos, and Delia is by no means the first. At the same time, he also has an uncontrolled anger within him, which he often projects onto women – it almost seems to be a kind of hatred. Hatred that makes it impossible for him to have a happy relationship.

Where does Mike Cees’ problem with trust… and women come from?

But where does Mike’s need to control women and humiliate them when necessary come from? During the KURIER interview in Berlin in July, when Mike and Delia reconciled for the third time after a separation, Mike casually mentioned his trust problem: “I lost my basic trust because of my mother, who left me from 11 to 21 , so for ten years. As a result, I lost trust in women, but also in people in principle. There are trigger points for me that trigger this. Apparently I’m not ready to let go yet.”

It’s no secret that Mike’s mother abandoned him. In an interview with RTL in 2021, he spoke about the day that changed everything: “I was with my father at the weekend and on Sunday I went back to my mother’s apartment. The doorbell, the name was gone, the curtains were gone… The neighbor comes out and says: ‘What do you want here? Your mother moved out.’” When Mike was in his early 20s, mother and son got back in touch, but the relationship is now miserable.

For the couples therapist Ann-Marlene Henning at the time, it was a clear case: “The mother decided on her own to leave you. That just explains everything I saw for me. “It’s clear that he’s terrified of being abandoned.”

Mike seems to know why he has a fundamental problem with trust and why he primarily blames women for changing his behavior, but he still can’t manage it. Will the time in prison make him think? Delia says she fears he could be released soon. What can she expect then? It is likely that Mike will still have the feeling of having been abandoned and taken advantage of and that this will never end. ■
