Luka Elsner, coach of Reims, was at a press conference last weekend. He was questioned about the case of Gabriel Moscardo, a 19-year-old midfielder, on loan from Paris Saint-Germain, who has not yet set foot on the pitch with his club. According to the 42-year-old Slovenian technician, Moscardo is not completely ready to take on the challenges of Ligue 1, but he is working in this direction. Elsner also explained that he was counting on him and that he had confidence in his player to quickly help the team.
Elsner « He's trying hard to get there.”
“He was penalized by an injury very early on without having really done any preparation, and he also has to adapt to Ligue 1, the intensity of the duels and the space available. He is aware of it, we often talk about it, and we are working to progress on these points; he tries very hard to get there.
Elsner « He represents an important resource for the club”
Even if he has not yet appeared, he represents an important resource for the club […] He is progressing, and we hope to be able to quickly put him in a position to show the extent of his talent. He is still a young player, with a particular profile.
I don't manage contracts, but what I do know is that we need all our resources, and as soon as he is able to help us, we will not deprive ourselves of them. The key is to communicate effectively and move forward together. The time will come, and I'm pretty confident. »
Moscardo is an important asset for PSG, but his loan is not going as planned. He's not playing, that's a big problem. Loaned to acquire playing time, this is still not the case and we can be concerned about that. Of course, Parisian supporters, known for their impatience, are crying transfer scandal.
We must give time and be pleased that Reims is not taking any risk of breaking the player in a championship known to be physical and difficult. The player continues to keep Elsner's confidence, just as he has that of Luis Enrique and Luis Campos for the future. We hope to see it quickly at the end of 2024.
