It’s the comedy of 2024! “Un p’tit truc en plus”, Artus’ first production, is broadcast this evening on Canal+. On this occasion we take stock of the actor's projects, who speaks to our microphone about his next production.
We owe him the surprise success of 2024: with A little thing in addition, Artus went behind the camera for the first time with a funny and caring comedy about disability. Released last May, the feature film brought 10.7 million spectators to theaters. A feat that the young director did not expect.
Met during the animated film Croquette, the wonderful cat in which he plays the hero, Artus returned to the success of his film: “I bought my first ticket for Un p'tit truc en plus at the first screening at Les Halles. I framed it thinking that it would be my souvenir of the film. And good with the success it has now had It’s quite funny. I’m happy to have one of the first 12 tickets.”
When will we see Artus again in front of and behind the camera? We take stock of the projects of the comedian, actor and director.
On the television side, Artus is part of the fifth season of the Prime Video show Lol: Who laughs, comes out!. He will therefore have to try not to laugh at the jokes of Camille Chamoux, Vincent Dedienne, Fatoumata Kaba, Cédric Doumbe, Fred Testot, Marina Rollman, Alexandre Kominek, Jérôme Niel and Muriel Robin.
On the big screen side, Artus makes an appearance in the film La Pampa by Antoine Chevrollier, scheduled to hit theaters on February 5, 2025. Presented at the Critics' Week of the 2024 Cannes Film Festival, the film is directed by Amaury Foucher and Sayyid El Alami. They play Willy and Jojo, two childhood friends who never leave each other's side. To kill boredom, they train at the Pampa, a motocross field. One evening, Willy discovers Jojo's secret.
A science fiction film with Adèle Exarchopoulos
The 37-year-old actor is currently filming Dog 51, the new film by Cédric Jimenez (Bac Nord, November). Artus co-stars in this science fiction feature film with Gilles Lellouche, Adèle Exarchopoulos, Louis Garrel, Daphné Patakia, Valeria Bruni-Tedeschi, Xavier Dolan, Stéphane Bak and Lala &ce.
Adapted from the novel of the same name by Laurent Gaudé, the feature film written by Olivier Demangel takes place in 2045. Paris is divided into zones which separate social classes and monitored by the AI Alma. Salia, an elite investigator from Zone 2, and Zem, a disillusioned police officer from Zone 3, are forced to work together to investigate the assassination of Alma's inventor. Their investigation will quickly reveal much deeper layers of conspiracy that force them to question their own allegiances and the true nature of the authority that governs the country.
The filming takes place from August 19 to December 18, 2024 in the PACA, Ile-de-France regions and Brussels. Chien 51 is scheduled to hit our theaters on October 15, 2025.
Mustachioed Artus for Christophe Barratier
Artus will then join the film set of the new film by Christophe Barratier (Les Choristes), Les Enfants de la résistance. A role for which he will wear a mustache, as he tells us. Adapted from the successful comic strip by Benoît Ers and Vincent Dugomier, the film will adapt two of the albums, and other adaptations could follow if successful.
During the Second World War, during the German occupation, François, Eusebe and Lisa, three courageous children, embark on a secret adventure: resisting the Nazis in the heart of France. Sabotage, hidden messages and perilous escapes, they carry out clandestine actions under the nose of the enemy. Boldness and friendship are their only weapons to fight against injustice. Artus plays the role of one of the children's fathers. He shares the bill with Gérard Jugnot, Pierre Deladonchamps, Leslie Medina, Julien Pestel, Julien Arruti and Vanessa Guide. The children are played by Lucas Hector, Nina Filbrandt, Octave Gerbi and Oscar Boissière. No release date has been announced yet.
His next achievement? A crazy western!
On the directing side, the director of the year's hit already has a new project. During our meeting, frame told us that it was a western in the tradition of Mel Brooks' cinema.
I dream of making a Mel Brooks film.
“For my next film I want to make a crazy western. I'm in the process of writing it. I don't have a casting yet, I don't have the story, I just want to traveling in a universe that we don't see often enough. I dream of making a Mel Brooks-style film, like. The sheriff is in jail. These are somewhat crazy films. I have 2-3 other avenues but I think this is the one that will happen. There's a 90% chance I'll make this film.”
A little something extra is broadcast this evening on Canal+. Don't miss it before seeing its future remakes hit theaters! Asked by us about possible new versions of his successful comedy, Artus suggested that an American remake “A little something extra” was in preparation, without saying more. So to be continued…
