Spalletti: The confidence of the players and the strength of their performance in training gives us the future

Nice Koura writes: Italy coach Luciano Spalletti feels confident stemming from his team’s level in recent matches and the players’ performance in training, before his team’s match against Belgium in the European Nations League in Brussels tomorrow, Thursday.

According to Reuters, Italy leads Group Two in the first level of the Nations League with ten points from four matches, although it settled for a 2-2 draw at home against Belgium last October.

But Spalletti is confident that his team is better prepared before tomorrow’s match, which will be held at King Baudouin Stadium.

Spalletti said in a press conference, “I saw players who were confident in their abilities, and we are looking forward to playing the next two matches, which can give the team a lot for the future. I do not know what Belgium will offer, but if we play with the performance that I saw this morning (in training) and what I saw in previous matches, then “It will be difficult for any team to play against Italy.”

Spalletti confirmed that he already knows the starting lineup that will play the match, with slight doubts regarding only two positions.

He said, “I have already made my decision to some extent. Of course, the doubt will remain until the last minute with the competition for two places. It is not really a doubt, it is normal for us to go through that and with time everything will fall into place.”

Nicolo Barella, who returned to the Italian squad after injury, gave a strong performance in the previous matches against Belgium after scoring two goals against them before.

“I told my teammates today that they (Belgium) are ‘my favorite victims’, but every match is different and logically I would be happy to score or perform well, but I repeat, the coach makes his decisions and I have to be,” he told Italian media earlier in the day. “Ready.”

He said, “They should forget the previous match against Belgium, when Italy’s Lorenzo Pellegrini was sent off after 40 minutes.”
