Toulouse: two men tortured in Tournefeuille, six individuals in police custody
Wednesday evening, in Tournefeuille near Toulouse, two men were victims of acts of torture and kidnapping. One of them, burned to the head and stabbed, was rushed to Toulouse University Hospital, where he received treatment. The national police arrested everyone present at the scene, including the two injured men, who are currently being questioned in hospital.
According to the first elements of the investigation, two young men aged 20 and 21 broke into an apartment located in a small two-story building, with the supposed intention of robbing the tenants. However, the residents did not alert the police but chose to “resolve” the situation themselves, engaging in particularly brutal reprisals.
According to testimonies, the two intruders were tied up: one of them was burned with hot oil, beaten and stabbed in the legs, while the other was severely beaten. Despite the severity of the injuries, the two men are currently out of danger.
Alerted by the screams, neighbors immediately called emergency services. The police intervened shortly after 11 p.m. and took the six people present at the scene into custody, including the two injured.
For the moment, the precise circumstances of this sequestration remain unclear. Investigators seek to understand the motivations of the apartment residents and explore all hypotheses. A link with a possible dispute linked to drug trafficking is envisaged, but more precise details will only be revealed at the end of police custody.
