The 26-year-old soldier was attacked by three men in front of the night establishment “le HQ” in Besançon, out of jealousy, because he approached the girlfriend of one of his tormentors. Two suspects were arrested and detained in this case. The third is identified, but is still on the run. Lhe two attackers arrested declared that the Guadeloupean had had “inappropriate behavior” towards the young girl. Questioned by investigators, the young woman did not give the same version of the facts and indicated that the 26-year-old young man had not behaved inappropriately towards her.
During his press conference, Etienne Manteaux, the Public Prosecutor of Besançon, indicated that in the event of the death of the Guadeloupean, the facts would be reclassified as aggravated voluntary violence having resulted in death without intention of causing it.
