The organization of festival Beauregardwhich takes place from July 3 to 6, 2025 in Hérouville Saint-Clair (Calvados), announced the first 14 names for its 2025 edition, Tuesday November 12, 2024. Meeting with Paul Langeois, co-director of the festival.
The first names have been revealed, how are you building the lineup?
I have been building the program in the same way since 2022. Beauregard is a general festival in the good sense of the word where we mix international, French, rock, hip-hop and rap groups on the same day. Our idea is to make you want to spend a whole day at the festival. 60% of festival-goers take at least one pass one day.
14 names announced at once, it’s rare…
This is something new. We had the opportunity to do it this year with the confirmation of the artists. We were also able to give names for each day, which allows festival-goers to plan ahead for those who want to buy 1 or 2 day passes. These names are just an overview. They represent 30% of the programming. We hope to make other announcements quickly, ideally before Christmas.
The fan offers sold out in a few minutes, does that still show great enthusiasm for the festival?
The fan op offers great discounts, so we can understand this enthusiasm. 5,000 places is far from being anecdotal, but the festival is far from complete. This public enthusiasm shows a certain confidence and also puts a little pressure on us. What makes the festival successful is offering several artists who will potentially be headliners according to festival-goers.
For now, you are offering us names over four days. Will there be a “day before” again this year?
We still have a lot to reveal. We do everything to ensure that the name of the “day before” arrives so that we can validate it and announce it quickly. From July 2025, I would like to announce 5 days for 2026, but it does not go as quickly as that to get confirmations from artists.
I have already said it several times, but for our economic model to be viable, the beforehand is necessary.
What is the festival budget for five days?
We are around 10 million 500,000 euros for five days of the festival, or costs of just over two million per day. Ticketing represents 65% of our revenue. We are trying to develop the partnership even further to avoid increasing ticket prices too much. There was an increase this year, but when we compare the price of a ticket or pass with other festivals comparable to ours such as Main Square, We Love Green or Musilac, we are almost the same for budgets and comparable production.
Do you plan any new developments on the festival site?
We want to stay at 32,000 people per day for the festival. We operate the site 100% as is. We want to continue to make this place magical and beautiful. In 2024, we launched the Normandy creators' hall, which returns this year in a slightly larger format. Anchoring the festival in the region is important. We try to innovate on the products, the restaurants present so that the public does not get bored.
