Dany Boon explains why he does 4 sports sessions per week and talks about his health

This Tuesday, November 12, Dany Boon was the guest of Daily to discuss his big return to the stage with his new one-man show entitled Clown is not a profession. The actor and comedian took the opportunity to share his memories of his spectacular physical transformation for the film Crazy Raid released several years ago.

Seven years after his last solo show, Dany Boon returns to the stage. In Dailyhe enthusiastically described his new show, Clown is not a professiondirected by Isabelle Nanty. This project will start and end in the North, a region dear to the comedian. This return to the world of stand-up also marks the opportunity for him to look back on his physical journey and the challenge he launched in 2017 for the film Crazy Raidwhere he had to physically transform for a demanding role. On the set of the show presented by Yann Barthès, he reveals the reasons why sport is still part of his daily life.

In DailyDany Boon remembered the sacrifices and efforts he had to make for the film Crazy Raid. In 2017, to play Eugène Froissard, a RAID agent, the comedian had to lose 15 kilos of fat and gain 10 kilos of muscle. “I had a strict diet” he confided to our colleagues at Pocket made with chicken, 0% white cheese, and pineapple. It was “not glamorous“, according to him, but probably effective for his transformation. On the set of Dailyhe returned to this period which turned his physique upside down. He talked about how this transformation did not go unnoticed. “A woman in the street stopped me, she told me 'Oh, it's crazy, I saw you in Raid Dingue, your body is incredible!'”. Flattered, he replied with pride, until she added: “It looks like a comic's head screwed onto an athlete's body.” A remark that made him laugh a lot, but which also pushed him to relax and return to his old weight.

Today, Dany Boon continues to play sports, but his motivations have changed. On the set of Quotidien, Yann Barthès questions him about his current habits: “Do you do four sports sessions per week? It's true ?“To which Dany Boon responds:”It's true, it's true.” For the comedian, it is no longer a question of achieving a physical ideal but of staying in shape: “I don't do sports to have a dream body. It's to be healthy.” He also explains that his one-man show career played a role in his physical well-being, explaining: “Thanks to the show and my career as a one-man before the cinemaI have a very slow heart, around 50 (beats per minute, editor’s note) at rest, which is very good.” Endurance acquired on stage which allows him to stay in shape.
