Canva users are unable to access the web version of the photo editing platform on November 12.

Canva is used by millions to edit photos and create new content.

Canva, the popular photo editing platform has been affected by a massive outage that has resulted in the website showing a blank screen. Canva has officially confirmed the issue faced by people trying to visit the canva.com website on the desktop.

“We have been aware that some users might receive an error page when visiting canva.com, says the Canvas status report page. The downdetector website has also confirmed the development, with many outage reports coming in from 3:00 PM IST on Tuesday, 12 November. The issue is not only affecting users in India and but other regions as well. At the time of writing, Canva was not accessible on our system as well, so it is likely that a major issue has caused this down time for the platform.

Canva recently announced that it has garnered 200 million monthly active users and continues to grow rapidly from its previous user base of 115 million users in the last couple of years. The company has recently made acquisitions of AI startups to build its suite of features and tools to entice more people to buy its premium offerings.

Canva had rolled out new features for its Visual Suite, including a cutting-edge text-to-image artificial intelligence (AI) generator. The image creation tool has multiple use cases and is based on Leonardo.AI Phoenix basic model.

Additionally, Canva has enhanced its Visual Suite with new tools such as Magic Write, interactive charts, polls and quizzes, and AI-powered whiteboards. This is one of the first major outage faced by the company in recent memory and it is vital that as it picks up more users, the platform will need to become equipped enough to handle the growing traffic.
