Actor Delhi Ganesh contribution to Tamil cinema has been deep and impressive, and he did very well with his excellent acting skills and diverse characters. Delhi Ganesh, who entered Tamil cinema in 1976 through the film “Pattina Pravesam”, was given the opportunity to act in his first film by director K Balachander. After this, he never looked back and played many memorable roles with big actors like Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, and Surya. In films like “Sindhu Bhairavi,” “Michael Madana Kamarajan,” “Avvai Shanmukhi,” he strung such precious pearls of his acting that the audience always appreciated him.
Delhi Ganesh spread the magic of his art not only in films but also in TV serials, web series, and short films. In his acting journey, he presented a balanced mix of villain, comedy, and character roles, which connected the audience with each of his characters. Delhi Ganesh, who was awarded the Kalaimamani Award in 1994, is considered to be unmatched in his art, and his art became a source of inspiration for the new generation of actors.
Delhi Ganesh also showcased his amazing acting talent in the recently released “Ratnam,” “Palace 4,” and “Indian 2.” However, unfortunately, Delhi Ganesh passed away at the age of 81 due to ill health for the past few days. He died at his residence in Rampuram at 11.30 pm, which was confirmed by his family.
Delhi Ganesh wanted to see his son Mahadevan Ganesh as a hero. He made many efforts for Mahadevan, changed the name of his production company to “Om Ganesh Creations” and tried to establish himself in films. Mahadevan played supporting roles in films like “Ulam Ketkumae” and “Thirudi,” but he could not get recognition as a hero.
In 2016, Mahadevan starred as the protagonist in the film “Ennul Ayar”. He played the lead role in the film alongside actors like Shruti, Marina Michael, and Vincent Asogan. However, the film failed to do well at the box office. Despite the dreams of Delhi Ganesh, Mahadevan did not get the recognition he wanted as a hero from the audience, and his acting was mostly limited to supporting roles.
Mahadevan was last seen in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s film “Vikram 2” opposite Vijay Sethupathi. Delhi Ganesh’s dedication to his son shows that he was not only a good actor but also an ideal father.
